Securing Your Client Portal with Two-Factor Authentication

In this tutorial we will walk you through securing your Client Portal with Two-Factor authentication.

WIth two-factor authentication you can add an extra layer of security to your account to help prevent any unauthorized access.
Two-factor authentication works by sending a unique time-sensitive code to your mobile device that you will be prompted to enter when logging in to your account.

To view your products and services, follow these steps:

  1. Log in to your Client Portal.
Follow this guide to learn how to access your Client Portal.

  2. Select the Profile Menu (the circular “avatar” icon at the top-right) and choose “Security Settings”.
    Select Security Settings

  3. Select “Click here to Enable”.
    This will enable two-factor authentication.
    Enable 2FA

  4. With “Time Based Tokens” chosen as the authentication method, select “Get Started”.
    Select Get Started

  5. Scan the QR code using your authentication app on your mobile device, then enter the 6-digit code generated in the field provided and select “Submit”
If you do not already have an authentication app on your mobile device then follow these steps to install an authentication app on your mobile device.

Note: The 6-digit code is time-sensitive and needs to be entered before it refreshes on the app screen, otherwise you will need to enter the new code.
    Enter Your Authentication Code

  6. Save your Backup Code somewhere safe.
You will need this code if you ever have difficulty logging in.

Note: If you ever need to disable your two-factor authentication, simply navigate to your “Security Settings” and choose “Click here to Disable”.
You will then be prompted to enter your Client Portal password.
    Save Your Backup Code
    Disable 2FA

  7. Congratulations! You have successfully enabled two-factor authentication.
Going forwards you will be prompted to enter your two-factor authentication code when logging in to your account.
